CARIES PREVENTION

Sangi nano<mHAP>, known in Japan as Medical Hydroxyapatite, was approved by Japanese health authorities as an effective anti-cavity agent back in 1993.

Based on laboratory research and clinical observations, it has been recognized that it helps reduce the risk of tooth decay in three ways:

1. Binds to and helps remove bacteria and plaque that cause tooth decay.

2. Fills and restores microscopic cracks on the surface of teeth, which become a suitable place for plaque-forming bacteria to multiply.

3. Remineralizes areas beneath the surface of teeth where acids from plaque or food have leached minerals. These areas, also known as “incipient caries,” can develop into cavities if the lost minerals are not replenished through saliva or other sources.
