What is Apacider®?

Apacider® is an antibacterial compound developed by the Japanese company Sangi Co. , consisting of silver ions and a calcium phosphate base . This compound has a long-lasting antibacterial effect without any irritation.

Unlike nano-hydroxyapatite, which is used to remineralize tooth enamel (e.g. in Apagard or Apadent toothpastes), Apacider® acts as a gentle but effective antibacterial protection .

Where is Apacider® used?

Apacider® is most commonly used in toothbrush bristles , the surface of which is coated with this compound. When brushing teeth:

• Apacider® helps inhibit the growth of bacteria in the oral cavity

• Reduces plaque and bad odor formation

• May help maintain cleaner gums and a fresher mouth feel
